Information

Use at your own risk

Cost

MeetMe is provided free of charge.

Risk and responsibility

You use MeetMe at your own risk. MeetMe only helps find possible nearby matches. It does not verify identity, age, intent, safety, or truthfulness of other users.

Be careful when meeting people. Meet in public places, tell someone you trust where you are going, and stop using the app if something feels wrong.

Minimum age

MeetMe is intended for adults only. You must be 18 or older to publish a profile.

Data stored on your device

Your browser stores a local profile and a random device token in local storage. This can include nickname, age, gender, selected looking-for options, current music, visibility setting, and the last known location used by the app.

This local data stays in your browser until you clear browser storage, reset the app, or uninstall the web app.

Data stored on the server

When you publish your profile, the server stores temporary presence data so other compatible users can find you.

  • Nickname
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Selected looking-for options
  • Current music, if provided
  • Approximate latitude and longitude rounded by the app
  • Visibility state
  • Creation, update, and expiry timestamps
  • A hash of your device token, not the raw token

How long server data is stored

Published profiles expire after 30 minutes and are then removed automatically by the system.

You can also go offline from the app. This asks the server to delete your current published profile immediately.

What other users can see

Matching users may see your nickname, age, gender, selected looking-for options, shared options, current music if provided, approximate distance, and last update time. They do not receive your exact coordinates.

Server logs

The web server may keep normal technical access logs, such as IP address, browser information, request time, requested URL, and status code. Log retention depends on the server configuration.

No cookies

MeetMe does not use cookies for the app session. The app uses local browser storage and an anonymous bearer token.
